Memory Lane Collections
THE UNION SAVINGS BANK COLLECTION
Union Savings Bank has partnered with Memory Lane to create an expanded collection of historic photographs of Western CT for the public to enjoy. These photos were chosen from the archives of many of our local Historical Societies. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these images is donated to these societies to support their work in preserving our rich state history.
THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS COLLECTION
The Library of Congress occupies a unique place in American civilization. Established as a legislative library in 1800 it has become an international resource of unparalleled dimensions. We have chosen images from their archives that illustrate the grandeur and natural beauty of the land along with the accomplishments and innovations of the American people.
THE HAT CITY COLLECTION
The Hat City Collection are
selected images from the
Danbury Historical Society
and Museum archives.
Danbury’s nickname Hat City
comes from the fact that it
once was the home of the
largest number of hat factories
in the country. Subjects of the
collection include the Great
Danbury State Fair, Candlewood Lake, downtown Main Street and
images of the hatting industry.
